Why Have A Newsletter?
If you depend on people supporting your endeavours, keep them informed. Your clients, friends and family are the foundation of your successful enterprise. A newsletter provides the opportunity to clarify ambitions and extend a benefit to your
recipient.
How To Manage A Newsletter
"Keep It Significant Sherlock". A good newsletter is like a good highway sign in advance of an interchange. It provides some key information that will support the goals of your fellow travelers.
Not everyone wants to be on your newsletter so do provide a clear opportunity to be removed.
Do include all your contact information phone(s), website, email, post mail. Your newsletter maybe forwarded onto someone you do not know.
Because you are sending out your newsletter in a batch to more than one recipient, do protect their privacy and use the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) field, not the Carbon Copy (CC) field.
Do declare the purpose for the mailing in the Subject Field.
Not everyone has their email program set to HTML or "Rich Text" viewing, so do save yourself time by using simple formatting.
Don't add attachments, many people have firewalls set up to prevent the opening of them.
Proof and spell check your copy before sending and do put your own address in the "To" field so that you get a copy.
Do be brief and to the point. If you have information of considerable length, publish it on one of your website pages and provide a link to it from the newsletter.
Unless your recipients expect daily or weekly reports, do restrict your frequency to a maximum of 6-12 times a year.
